Kay Cee Care Services Ltd offers a wealth of personal and functional care and associated nursing and domestic services to meet the needs of dependent clients (“Service Users”); these may include older people, the mentally ill, those with physical or learning disability and people who need assistance due to either physical or mental illness to continue living in their own homes and community. This will be achieved by promoting a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of good care practice that is witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care in the domestic environment.
Nursing and Care services are provided in partnership with hospitals (where necessary), service users, their GPs, their carers and relatives, respecting their diverse needs, preferences and choices. It is standard practice for a member of our management team to visit each service user before commencing the service to be able to understand the individual situation and then provide the most suitable package accordingly. We provide the following services:
24 hour care at home or live-in home care
Administrative assistance such as banking, bill paying, arranging maintenance and arranging repairs.
Day to day chores such as light household tasks, shopping and cooking.
Trips out such as to hairdressers, church, family visits, doctors’ appointments and theatres.
Mental health support and rehabilitation including dementia care, medication and close observations.
Collecting prescriptions and orders from pharmacy.
Perinatal and post-natal care.
End of life care.
Dressing and undressing
Bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene
Toilet and continence requirements
Medication requirements and other health related activities
Eating and meals
Handling personal possessions and documents
Specialist tasks: There are aspects of the service that require staff to have specific experience or training in order to ensure they are able to undertake such tasks. Tasks requiring specialist training or experience include:
Catheter care – changing bags, monitoring output and emptying bags
Assistance with eye or ear drops
Assistance with coIleostomy and Colostomy care
Blood sugar monitoring (taking BMs) for diabetic service users
Taking and recording vital signs and completion of the MEWS score.
Risk assessments and care planning
Nursing care: Medication administration, wound care and injections (including insulin injections and depot injections for mental health service users)
The above tasks are provided by or under the supervision of qualified nurses. Care staff are required to be assessed as competent before providing some of the above care duties.
Care workers will NOT undertake tasks that require the skills and expertise of other professionals. Such tasks include:
Toe and nail cutting (Referral will done for chiropodist services)
In addition to nursing and care in service users’ homes, Kay Cee Care services also provide recruitment services for hospitals and other healthcare organisations. We send our qualified registered nurses and well trained healthcare assistants/support workers to hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare institutions.
